I feel very privileged to be working beside some of the most passionate and creative volunteers in raising awareness and funds for Macmillan.”
Morag Wright, Project Manager “This is the second year I have been involved in the Edinburgh Macmillan Art Show. My role is that of Project Manager and I am sure this will be a very rewarding and worthwhile experience.”
Natalie Burnside, Volunteer Manager “I first became involved with the Art Show in 2011 as a volunteer and applied to join the committee in 2012. I love being part of this unique event, helping to raise vital funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. This is my eighth year helping with the show and I love working with the amazing team of art show volunteers!”
Laura White, Artist Communications  “2018 is my tenth Edinburgh Macmillan Art Show and it has been a pleasure to watch it grow and become more and more successful each year. The excitement of Preview Night makes all the months of planning worthwhile, and it is very fulfilling to be involved in raising money for a charity that does such important work and provides such support to so many people.”
Ruth Davidson, Marketing “This is my third year helping with the Edinburgh Macmillan Art Show. I am part of the marketing team and thoroughly enjoy volunteering for such a worthwhile charity. It was eye opening last year to see how much work is involved in putting on the show and experiencing the final event.”
Christine Johnston “I am a Macmillan volunteer and enjoy the wide and varied aspects of the role such as wearing the Mac T-shirt to support the runners at the marathon, collecting cans full of money, bucket shakes and of course the annual Art Show. It’s a pleasure to work with the Macmillan Teams and see the wonderful work they do to help and support people with cancer and their families.”
Sujai Kumar “I am the keyboard monkey for the art show, helping with the website, social media, databases, and online processes. I’ve really enjoyed working with the committee who are passionate and kind and brilliant at what they do, and raise lots of money and goodwill for Macmillan”
Karen Wilson “This is my sixth year volunteering with the Macmillan Art Show Committee. Macmillan provides support to so many people and by being part of a committed Art Show team enjoy raising funds for this worthwhile charity. The Communications Team works directly with the artists so it was my pleasure to meet some of them at the Art Show Preview Night last year.”
Pat Young, Founding member “It has given me great pleasure to have been involved with Edinburgh Macmillan Art Show since its inception. Combining my love of art with the opportunity to raise vital funds for this charity has been very rewarding and I look forward to our event with continued enthusiasm.”
Carrie Pairman, Marketing “Having been a Macmillan Volunteer for a few years now in a variety of areas, I’m delighted to be back as part of the Marketing Team for the Edinburgh Macmillan Art Show for the third year. It’s an honour to work with such a committed team and see the energy and effort everyone puts in to help raise money and awareness for such a fantastic cause!”
Rebecca Gallacher, Sponsorships “This is my first year being involved in the Art Show and I didn’t realise how much work goes into producing this show. I have previously been involved in supporting runners at the Edinburgh Marathon and when this post became available I jumped at the chance to get involved. The people are fantastic, the event is fantastic and it all goes to a great purpose.”
Natasha Ruwona, Curation Team “The first introduction that I had to the Macmillan Art Show was exhibiting my collages in 2017. I am now looking forward to working behind the scenes as a member of the curation team and learning about the ins and outs of organising an art show. Combining my passion for art and charity makes this an extremely exciting opportunity that I feel very lucky to be involved with!”
Mhairi Anderson, Curation Team “This is the first year that I have been involved with the Art Show and I am excited to be a part of it. Being a member of the curatorial team means that I have the opportunity to be a part of a very dedicated team of passionate people, learn more about what goes into organising an art show as well as using what I learned during my time at DJCAD. It’s shaping up to be a great event for a fantastic cause.”
Simone Parker, Curation Team “I’ve just recently started working with Macmillan as part of the curation team. Having studied Art History and Fine Art Conservation at University, I’m very excited to get involved with the 2018 Macmillan Art Show which showcases such talented artists and supports a wonderful cause.”
Maria Oliver-Smith, Curation Team “2018 marks my first year as part of the Macmillan Art Show curation team. I feel privileged to work alongside such motivated and creative individuals both from the Macmillan team and contributing artists. The Art Show is unique in that it offers an opportunity to engage with artists both emerging and established, and
to support a charity that provides indispensable support to cancer patients and their families.”
