Lel lives and works from her studio in Edinburgh. Her work starts with sketches or a memory of something she has seen, and recent work has been developing into more abstract compositions. She works on several pieces concurrently, working mainly with acrylics and pencil, constructing and destroying as part of the process. She is often drawn to vibrant colours, which represent how she feels about the subject rather than what she actually sees. Lel has exhibited work at: Royal Society of Painters in Watercolour 2017; Edinburgh Macmillan Art Shows 2016, 2015, 2014; The Society of Scottish Artists Exhibition, Royal Scottish Academy, Edinburgh, 2013; Leith School of Art Summer Exhibitions 2013, 2012 and 2011; Group Exhibition Patriothall Gallery, Edinburgh 2014.
