I trained as a printed textile designer 30 years ago, completing a degree course at Manchester and freelancing for many years, working with companies such as John Lewis and Liberty’s. During this time I became very interested in colour and texture.
In 2000 I moved to Scotland with my family and became more interested in painting, initially using watercolour and then oils. I now exhibit regularly around Scotland and my work is evolving all the time. I continue to be interested in the layering of images and colour to translate the space and depth I see in my subject matter onto canvas. More recently i have been experimenting with monoprinting to develop my ideas and use alongside my painting.
