I am a Scottish artist who has completed classes in Botanical Illustration at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh. From a young age I have been fascinated by the precision of nature and its bold, shimmering colours. With a combined love of art, nature, travel and my current studies in biological science and human health, I aim to provoke a deeper appreciation of nature and inspire viewers to take a closer look at the wonders that surround them. I choose to work using the medium of professional coloured pencil as it allows me to create very detailed work, and the natural sheen of the pencil enhances the light, reflection and realistic image I aim to create. People who view her work often tell her they could reach out and take a bite of the fruit, or smell the flowers, and that’s when I know I have captured the nature of the subject. In February this year I had a three month, very successful solo exhibition at Dawyck Royal Botanic Garden.
