Joan Doerr is a Scottish abstract painter. Her home studio is in Edinburgh’s West End.
“Photographs or sketches play their part but mainly my paintings are constructed through process. It will often involve applying and removing layers of paint and drawing: sometimes splattering, sometimes carefully reapplying, and continuing the whole process until satisfied with their depth and atmosphere.”
Joan has exhibited widely across the UK, including the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in London on several occasions
