My background in textiles is evident in my quirky, contemporary paintings. I graduated with a BA in Industrial design from the Scottish College of Textiles ( now part of Herriot Watt University) and for 15 years worked in the textile industry as a designer.
My mixed media still lifes feature treasured items collected over the years; textile samples, china, old bottles. Fruit and flowers are added to give freshness to the groupings and the aerial perspective allows the shapes to be flattened and refined, providing a traditional subject a modern twist.
My work has been exhibited in group shows across the UK.
