Michael Dix is a contemporary artist and designer based in Dundee, Scotland. Architecture and design are clear influences in his artworks through an understanding of size and scale, and how to alter our perception of them. ‘Scale’ forms the central core of Michael’s work. Concentrated, articulate, complex pieces of nature and other overlooked objects are painted over pristine white backgrounds, ordinance survey maps, and glass. Michael has developed meticulous techniques which cause the viewer to question how the work is created, or if what they are looking at is actually real. Michael continually exhibits in galleries across the UK.
