Award winning artist, author and gallery owner. Glasgow School of Art graduate Moy Mackay’s “felt paintings” are a pioneering development of the ancient craft of felting. Using merino fibres in the same way a painter uses brushstrokes, each vibrant piece achieves a depth of warmth and texture that paint cannot. By manipulating the merino fibres in this way, she has created a very personal and innovative approach to visual expression. Following the success of her best-selling books ‘Art in Felt & Stitch” and ‘Flowers in Felt & Stitch’ her art form has resulted in Moy running regular workshops in the Scottish Borders, Spain and internationally. In 2016 Moy was a competitor on Sky Arts’ Landscape Artist of the Year. She has exhibited her work widely in solo exhibitions at prestigious venues throughout Scotland, as well as in London and the USA.
