Jayne was born in Shropshire in 1973. In 1996 she graduated from Edinburgh College of Art with a first class degree in drawing and painting; and latterly studied at Winchester School of Art in Barcelona graduating with an MA in Fine Art in 1998. Jayne was artist in residence at the Grizedale Sculpture Park, Cumbria during 1997 and was selected for New Contemporaries99, which exhibited at the Beaconsfield gallery in London and the Liverpool Biennial.
