I trained in printed textile design BA.Hons, and the themes i found interesting in my design work still feature strongly in my paintings and continue to develop. The use of colour to create a mood or vibrancy is a constant source of excitement, and this combined with pattern and texture in the correct proportions complete the image. Pattern has developed into loose brush strokes and marks; landscapes and still lives are the tools which i choose to illustrate my ideas. I now live in Highland Perthshire and exhibit my oil paintings in galleries around Scotland and in England; I have work in collections in Europe, America as well as the UK.
