Born in Glasgow, I graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in 1993. I was awarded the John Kinross Scholarship to Florence from the RSA that year. I paint primarily in oils as well as in watercolour and my work is inspired by life experiences. My style varies depending on chosen subject matter and media. My figurative and portrait compositions are colourful representations of the sitter, which include symbolic and narrative aspects pertinent to the subject. I exhibit in the UK in group exhibitions and art fairs and I have been shortlisted for the BP Portrait Award in 2014 and the Royal Society of Portrait Painters in 2017.
