I am a Scottish artist and have completed classes in Botanical Illustration at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh and I am currently studying for an honours degree in Biological Science. From a young age I have been fascinated by the precision of nature and its bold, shimmering colours. With my combined love of art, nature, travel and my current studies in biological science and human health, I aim to provoke a deeper appreciation of nature and inspire viewers to take a closer look at the wonders that surround them. I choose to work using the medium of professional coloured pencil as it allows me to create very detailed work and the natural sheen of the pencil enhances the light, reflection and realistic image I aim to create. People who view my work often tell me that they could reach out and take a bite of the fruit, or smell the flowers, that’s when I know I’ve captured the nature of the subject
