Jakab, Zsofia

Zsofia Jakab is a Hungarian interdisciplinary artist, currently based in Scotland. Her artworks are all part of a cabinet of curiosities, bringing together different mediums like oil painting, wax and porcelain sculpture and printmaking. In her artworks, she is mainly interested in exploring the opposites of beauty and terror, earthly / bodily and the ethereal; as well as twisting the ‘familiar’ into ‘strangeness’, and representing metamorphosis and ‘in-between’ states. She’s currently enrolled in a Masters of Fine arts in Art and Humanities at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design.
