I am a painter, printmaker and installation artist based in Edinburgh, and work from my studio at Wasps as well as at Edinburgh Printmakers. I studied painting at Edinburgh College of Art, graduating in 2013, following a career as a journalist. Recent group exhibitions include Odysseys at Summerhall (part of Syn Festival), Limited Edition at Edinburgh Printmakers, the Akureyri Summer Arts Festival in Iceland, and last year’s Macmillan Art Show. I’m currently preparing for a solo show at Upright Gallery, Edinburgh, in October this year.
My work is strongly connected to different places, and explores how people engage with them and how they shape identity. I’m particularly drawn to the sea, islands and the extreme reaches of land. Much of my work explores the built or industrial environment in the landscape, and my more recent work also looks at navigation as subject matter.
