I have always drawn and painted. Taking early retirement has allowed me to focus on my art work. I have completed courses at Leith School of Art, Edinburgh College of Art, Edinburgh Printmakers and The Open College of the Arts.
I have a small studio at Beaverhall Art Studios and have been a member of Edinburgh Printmakers for more than a decade.
I exhibit regularly and have had work in the RSA, SSA and PAI annual exhibitions.
Colour and layers are ever present in my work. Inspiration comes from the landscape of the Spey Valley where we have a cottage, from sketches and photographs of harbours, seascapes and landscapes and from holidays both at home and abroad.
My recent screen prints have focussed on my love of trees particularly in winter. I love the stark silhouettes, shape and form of trees without their leaves. I often layer my images with colour blends, text and drawn elements.
I am a member of VAS and SSA.
