Lemm, David

I am a visual artist based in Edinburgh. Brought up in Fife, I studied at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, Dundee, graduating in 2006.
My practice spans various processes including printmaking, drawing and collage, and is often research led; primarily informed by notions of place, landscape, narrative and perception, whilst exploring visual language and symbolic systems for understanding.

I have worked across a broad range of projects including residencies, education, collaborations, community initiatives and commissions – including freelance illustration and animation work. I have presented solo exhibitions at Edinburgh Printmakers (‘Debris and Phenomena’, 2015) and House of Illustration, London (‘Mapping King’s Cross’, 2016) and regularly participate in group shows/projects.

Most recently I was awarded the Jon Schueler Scholarship Visual Artist in Residence at Sabhal Mor Ostaig, Skye which culminated in the exhibition ‘Passing Place’ earlier in 2018.
