Based at Edinburgh College of Art, I’m now entering my final year of studying Painting. My practice is inspired by the senses rather than any singular source material or narrative- visceral, sensual, tactile, attractive, repellent, odd material is everywhere. The varied source material I collect to inform my practice, from desert landscapes to the pigs of Huangpu river, China, all share a sense of intimacy, sensuality, the grotesque and the visceral, the essence of which are then distilled through an inexact, undefinable process, focused on intuition and feeling rather than anything directly representational.
