Bonnar, Sharon

I am a painter with a passion for street photography. I graduated from Gray’s School of Art with a BA (Hons) Degree in Fine Art. I find my inspiration in the daily humdrum of the city dweller. I record how we all negotiate public space through photography which I then use as my study. I paint a figurative representation and then manipulate this image, thus changing a detailed composition into abstract texture and shapes. I find this creates interest as the original figurative image still lurks below the surface but the narrative has been reduced to the concept of colour and form.
